Alexander Dinelaris (Playwright) was nominated for a Lucille Lortel (Best Musical) and two Drama Desk Awards (Book & Lyrics) for his work on the off-Broadway hit, ZANNA DON’T! His newest play, FOLDING THE MONSTER, starring Danny Aiello and Rosie O’Donnell, is slated for Broadway for the fall of 2005 and is currently in development as a feature film with director Bob Giraldi at the helm. His other works include the critically acclaimed THE CHAOS THEORIES, which played to sold out houses at the 2004 New York Fringe Festival, BIG KIDS, the romantic comedy ADAM & EVELYN and PATHETIQUE (also currently being developed as a short film) . Alex has been a script doctor for New Line Cinema and is currently working on a television pilot starring Mr. Aiello. In addition to his writing Mr. Dinelaris was also an assistant to director David Leveaux on Roundabout’s Tony winning revival of ANNA CHRISTIE. Other directing credits include a staged reading of Michael Christofer’s THE WHORE & MR. MOORE, starring Kathleen Turner, Debra Monk and Bryan Murray as well as SINFUL HEAVEN starring Saundra Santiago. Mr. Dinelaris attended the theatre program at Barry University where he won the prestigious Mac McKindree Scholarship for Theatre. He trained under Marjorie Ballentine, of the Stella Adler Conservatory. He is currently the resident dramaturg of New York’s Shotgun Theatre.
